After several years of informal activities of the Bangladeshi Hindu community living in Queensland, Australia, the The Bangladesh Puja & Cultural Society Inc. (BPCS) was formally established on 8th September 2006 in Queensland. The BPCS is a non-political and non-profit cultural organisation, run by the Bangladesh descent Hindu Community in Brisbane, Queensland.
Key objectives of the Association are as follows:
To promote Bengali values and culture among families, children and the generation.
To uphold the values of the Hindu (Sonaton) religion, its ideology and concepts.
To organise related religious and cultural activities.
To promote “help consciousness”, bring harmonisation, and improve social bondage and communication amongst the members of the Association.
To strengthen cultural ties and friendship between the Australian and the members of the Association.
To promote cultural exchange with any other groups, organizations or institutions interested in Bengali culture.
To foster mutual respect and awareness among the members of different faiths.
